2007 "Summer Art Campers"
The Campers' artwork below is called a "Chalk Moiré"
It is accomplished by tearing the edge of one piece of
paper, putting a line of pastel chalk along that edge, placing the chalked
edge on another sheet of paper and rubbing the chalk on to the second piece of
paper. The process is repeated until the second paper is filled.
The concepts it teaches is soft textural qualities of chalk, filling the page;
rhythm and unity through repetition and progressive transition.
Two students chose to show their stencil/frisket design.
The concept is the same but a specific design is used to rub the chalk from,
rather than just a random torn piece of paper.
