Woodcarving / Multiple Sessions / Tuesdays / October 2009 through April 2010 / 6:00 to 8:30 pm
DALE TIMMERMAN will be your instructor. This is a class for all levels of skill. Classes will begin on the first Tuesday in October and ends the last Tuesday in April. No pre-registration required. Bring your equipment with you and come enjoy the conversation and talents of our wood carvers’ league. If you are in need of supplies, some may be available for sale or someone will help you find what you need for your particular project. There are as many different kinds of carving going on, as there are personalities. All skill levels are welcome. No charge for your first visit.

Creating Art with Pastels / 4 Sessions / Tuesdays / March 23, 30, April 6, 13, 2010 / 1:00 to 3:00 pm
JOYCE GUENTZEL will be teaching this afternoon class as beginner friendly or more challenging for the experienced artist. Students will learn to use pastels (chalk) to create various art. Bring the following items - pastel chalk, pastel pencils, kneaded erasure, pastel paper and drawing board. The Instructor can supply some of what is needed for you to get started. You may also contact the Instructor for more information at 218-263-7272. Some materials may be available to purchase at the Art Center.

Drawing Techniques / 5 Sessions / Thursdays / April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 2010 / 6:30 to 8:00 pm
DOTTIE BAERTSCHY will be your Instructor. She will show you how to draw with the correct proportions and measurements, light, reflective light and shading plus many tips and helps in developing your drawing skills. This course covers many subjects’ such as the human face and figure, parallel and angular perspective, view points, composition, etc. which will equip you to create art such as still life, portraits and scenery and simple architectural drawing. Bring a couple of ordinary #2 pencils, a good eraser, a drawing tablet and a ruler.
*Fess are $50.00 for RAA members and $60.00 for non-members.
Watercolors with Bonnie DuFresne / 2 Sessions / Friday & Saturday / March 19 & 20, 2010 / 6:00 to 9:00 pm (Fri) & 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (Sat)
BONNIE DUFRESNE will be your Instructor. All levels of experience are welcome.

Complete a Painting (In One Class) / 1 Session / Saturday / April 17, 2010 / 1:00 to 4:30 pm
DOTTIE BAERTSCHY will be your Instructor. She will have you complete an oil panting during the session and you will learn to paint using a palette knife and wide brush in the style of "Bob Ross". Bring whatever oil painting materials you have or you may call Dottie at 218-254-4032 for more information.

Classes may be arranged through your local Girl Scout Office to meet badge requirements. Costs and scheduling will depend on Art Center schedules and badge material requirements. Check your guidebook for dates, times and fees.
Request your media and subject and we will furnish an instructor. Cost dependent on materials involved.
